Kessel enters his fourth season season as the Special Teams Coordinator and linebackers coach in 2022 following two seasons as the linebackers coach at Assumption.

COACHING CAREER

• Special Teams Coordinator, Linebackers coach at Assumption University
  • Helped coach a defense which led conference in scoring
  • Won NE10 Championship in 2017 with the top-ranked scoring defense
  • Advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2017
  • Team finished the year leading the nation in turnover margin, turnovers gained, interceptions, while being fifth in sacks and 11th in scoring defense
• Defensive Assistant at WPI
  • Engineers went 6-4, including two of the losses coming by a touchdown or less to ranked opponents

• Played four years at Assumption as a linebacker
• Helped lead Assumption to its first-ever NE10 Championship in 2015, team advanced to second round of the NCAA tournament
• Finished his career with 67 total tackles and appeared in 36 total contests over his four years

PERSONAL LIFE

• Kessell graduated from Assumption in 2016 with a degree in criminology
