Assumption University

Amy Youmell was named the head volleyball coach at Assumption University in April 2022.

Youmell most recently served as an assistant coach at UMass Boston for a season in which she helped the Beacons win their league-best 10th Little East Conference title and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Her responsibilities included helping to plan, organize and execute practices, scout opponents, and direct the team’s physical conditioning programs.

Before her arrival at UMass Boston, Youmell was heavily involved with coaching at the scholastic and club levels. Her experiences included serving as the head coach at Georgetown High School, junior varsity coach at Andrews High School, and as a co-director and head coach of Club Coastal Volleyball.

A native of Greenfield, Massachusetts, Youmell graduated from the New England Center for Cosmetology in 2009 and currently holds USA Volleyball Cap 1 and 2 certifications. She is also currently pursuing her associate’s degree in sport management from Holyoke Community College.
