Greyhounds Defeat Saint Anselm, 6-3

Worcester, Mass. -- The Assumption College men's tennis team took a big step towards securing a conference playoff berth on Friday, defeating the visiting Hawks of Saint Anselm 6-3.

At number three singles, Assumption sophomore Matt Drolet (Cumberland, R.I./Mt. St. Charles) defeated sophomore William Condon (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield), 7-6, 6-3. At number five singles, sophomore Dylan Baker (Cherry Valley, Mass./Leicester) was victorious for the Greyhounds, defeating junior Liam Concannon (Boston, Mass./Catholic Memorial), 6-3, 6-0. The Greyhounds would sweep all three doubles matches, making the difference in the match.

Assumption is now 4-9 with a 3-7 record in the Northeast-10, while Saint Anselm falls to 2-8 with a 2-8 conference record. The team wraps up its regular season at Saint Michael's on Saturday.
