Waltham, Mass. (April 16) -- The Assumption women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-4 road final at Bentley University on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Greyhounds drop to 5-7 overall and 3-6 in Northeast-10 Conference play, while the Falcons improve to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in league play.
Bentley scored twice in a 19-second span nearly 10 minutes into the first half for a 2-0 lead before Steph O'Rourke (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) tallied on a free position shot for a 2-1 game. Erin Theriault (Feeding Hills, Mass./Agawam) scored late in the first half as the Falcons led by a 7-2 score at the break.
The Falcons took control in the second half, while the Hawks got a pair of goals from O'Rourke as she completed the hat trick. Michelle Monahan (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) made 10 saves in the defeat the Greyhounds.
Assumption is back in action on Wednesday, April 20th as the Greyhounds travel to American International for a 4 p.m. start.
