Greyhounds Roll Over Southern Connecticut For Biggest Win Since 2002

Assumption 19, Southern Connecticut State 2
New Haven, Conn. -- The Assumption woman's lacrosse team had perhaps its biggest victory in years on Wednesday, winning at Southern Connecticut 19-2.

The win brings Assumption's record to 4-4. It is the most wins in a season by the program since they won seven games in the 2005 season. It is the largest margin of victory for the Greyhounds since a 22-0 result against Southern Connecticut during the 2002 season.

Assumption sophomore midfielder Caitlin White (Bethany, CT/Amity) had five goals, while sophomore midfielder Steph O'Rourke (Amherst, NH/Southegan) scored four. Junior defender Meaghan Daly (Canton, MA/Canton) had three goals on the day. The Greyhound defense was strong all day with the Owls managing only four shots on goal.

Assumption's conference record is now 2-4, while Southern Connecticut falls to 0-8 with an 0-6 record in the Northeast-10. The team plays next this Saturday as they host Saint Michael's.
