The Assumption College volleyball team dropped two matches in a tri-match with Adelphi University and Dominican College.

The Hounds lost the first match to Adelphi, 25-11, 25-12 and 26-24. Assumption battled in the third game, but came up just short.

Assumption got a strong performance from Lauren Ostafin (Avon , Conn./Avon) who finished with five kills and 12 digs. Freshman Bizzie Gonring (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Dominican) tied for the team lead with five kills.

In the second match against Dominican, the game scores were 25-16, 25-15, 22-25 and 25-27. The Hounds again were lead by Ostafin, who finished with nine kills and 15 digs. Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles ) tied for the team lead with nine kills. Steph Whooten (Norton, Mass./Bishop Feehan) led the Hounds with 18 digs.

Assumption College moves to 4-7 on the season and 0-2 in the Northeast-10 with the losses. The Hounds hit the court next against Southern Conn. State University on September 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
