Worcester, Mass. (September 27) -- On Tuesday night, the Greyhounds fell to American International College, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Hounds dropped the first set, 25-14, but rebounded to win the second set, 25-15 and knot the game up at 1-1.
However, AIC took the final two sets to win 3-1. Mary Johnston (Pearland, Texas/Glenda Dawson) led the Hounds with 14 kills while playing in four sets. Steph Whooten (Norton, Mass./Bishop Feehan) had a team-high 24 digs, while Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon) finished with 19. Setter Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J./Immaculate Heart) had a game-high 36 assists.
The Hounds fell to 4-11 with the loss and 0-5 in the Northeast-10. The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-9 with the victory and 2-2 in the conference.
The Hounds hit the hardwood against Stonehill on Wednesday, Sept. 28th. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Easton, Mass.
