Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 3) -- The Hounds moved to 2-1 on the young season with a victory over Brevard College on Sunday.
After dropping the first match with a score of 25-19, the Hounds came back to win 3-1.
Sophomore Mary Johnston (Pearland, Texas/Glenda Dawson) led the way for the Hounds with season-high 17 kills. She also added a dig.
Middle hitter Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) was second on the Hounds with 12 kills and Sam Lupinski (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) was third on the team with nine kills on an efficient 13 attempts for a .615 percentage.
Sophomore setter Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J./Immaculate Heart) set a season high in assists with 42, while adding six digs and four kills in the victory.
Junior Steph Whooten (Norton, Mass./Bishop Feehan) had 20 digs for the Hounds in the victory, while Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon) was second on the team with 15 to go along with five kills.
