Andover, Mass. (November 3) -- The Assumption College volleyball team lost to Merrimack College, 3-2, in a five set match in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday evening.

Junior Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) had a match-high 19 kills for Assumption, while Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J./Immaculate Heart) passed out 48 assists for the Greyhounds.

Four Greyhounds finished with eight kills, led by freshman Tara Reilly (Naples, Fla. / Northport), who had eight kills on a .174 attack percentage. Mary Johnston (Pearland, Texas/Glenda Dawson), Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon), and Ann Donahue (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) also had eight kills for Assumption.

The set scores were 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 8-15. Stephanie Sheehan had a team-high 17 kills for Merrimack, who improves to 10-17 overall and 2-10 in Northeast-10 Conference play, while Assumption falls to 10-17 overall and 4-8 in league play.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Nov. 6 at The College of Saint Rose. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Albany, N.Y.
