Rockville Centre, N.Y. (March 5) -- The Assumption College women's lacrosse team dropped its opening game of the season, 13-6, to Molloy on Monday night.

Junior attack Michelle Santos (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) netted two goals, while captain Steph O'Rourke (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) scored one goal for Assumption in the loss.

Trailing 8-2 at the half, Assumption rallied in the second half, scoring four consecutive goals to cut into the Molloy lead.

Sophomore goaltender Michelle Monahan (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) made 10 saves in the loss.

Assumption returns to the field on Wednesday, March 7, to take on Queens College. The game will begin at 3 p.m.
