Greyhounds Fall to No. 2 Adelphi University

Worcester, Mass. (April 10) -- The Assumption College women's lacrosse team lost to number two ranked Adelphi University, 23-8, on Tuesday afternoon at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The Panthers improve to 10-1 overall, and 7-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play, while Assumption falls to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the league.

The Greyhounds fell behind 3-0, but cut into the lead on back-to-back goals by freshman Amy McNeil (Orange, Conn./Amity) with 23:12 remaining in the first half. McNeil finished the game with three goals, and now sits at 43 on the season, tied for fifth most in school history.

The Panthers closed the first half on a 15-1 run en route to the victory.

The Greyhounds return to action on April 14, as the team plays host to Bentley University. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
