Worcester, Mass. (Sept. 2) -- The Assumption College volleyball team went 3-1 at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, and junior Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon) was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Greyhounds defeated three non-conference opponents, Felician, Georgian Court, and Concordia, before dropping its final match to Northeast-10 Conference foe American International by a score of 3-1.

Sophomore Ann Donahue (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) notched 33 kills in three matches to lead the Greyhounds, while Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y/Skaneateles) finished with 31. Ostafin had 29, while contributing 21 digs. Senior Steph Whooten (Norton, Mass./Bishop Feehan) paced Assumption with 43 digs, while junior Jess Reimers finished the tournament with 34.

Junior Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J./Immaculate Heart) finished the tournament with 101 assists while directing the offense.

The Greyhounds will return to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 5 to take on Southern New Hampshire. The match will begin at 7 p.m. at the Laska Gymnasium in Worcester, Mass.
