Worcester, Mass. (September 22) -- Junior Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles)dominated play with 26 kills as the Greyhounds dropped two matches in a tri match on Saturday in the Laska Gymnasium.

The Greyhounds dropped their first match to Adelphi University by a 3-1 final, while Merle finished with 12 kills and a .429 hitting percentage. The junior converted 12-of-21 attacks in the loss.

Mary Johnston (Pearland, Texas/Glenda Dawson) finished with 11 kills, while Jess Reimers (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) finished with a team-high 13 digs, while Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J./Immaculate Heart) had 35 assists in the loss.

In the second match, a 3-1 loss to Daemen College, Merle finishe with a team-high 14 kills with a .480 hitting percentage. The New York native converted 14-of-25 attacks in the match.

Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon) finished with 11 kills, while Flatekval had 38 assists and 13 digs. Reimers paced Assumption with 14 digs to finish with 27 on the day, while Flatekval posted 73 assists in two games.

Assumption falls to 6-10 on the season with the pair of losses and will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25 as the team travels to take on Southern Conn. State University. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
