Box Score Worcester, Mass. (October 5) -- The Assumption College volleyball team dropped a five-set match to Southern New Hampshire University at the Laska Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Three Greyhounds finished with double-digit kills as Mary Johnston (Pearland, Texas / Glenda Dawson), Ann Donahue (Braintree, Mass. / Braintree), and Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn. / Avon) each finished with more than 10 kills.
Johnston led the Greyhounds with 13 kills while Donahue had 12 kills and led Assumption in efficiency with a .290 hitting percentage.
Senior Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J. / Immaculate Heart) dished out 47 assists in the loss while Johnston and sophomore Courtney Bagwell (Diamond Bar, Calif. / Diamond Bar) each had more than 25 digs in the match. Johnson had a double-double with 13 kills and 25 assists while Bagwell had a team-high 30 digs to lead Assumption defensively.
Sophomore Tara Reilly (Naples, Fla. / Northport) had a team-high seven blocks while senior Alie Carlson (Amston, Conn. / RHAM) had four blocks for Assumption.
The Greyhounds fall to 3-10 on the season with the loss and are 0-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play while SNHU improves to 8-5 on the season and are 3-0 in the league.
Assumption will be back in action on October 8th as the team will travel to Adelphi University to take on the Panthers. The match will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
