Manchester, N.H. (September 17) -- The Assumption College volleyball team dropped a five-set match to Southern New Hampshire University at the SNHU Fieldhouse on Tuesday evening.

The set scores were 25-17, 25-23, 26-28, 20-25, and 12-15.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a two-set lead and held leads in the third set before SNHU roared back to tie the match at two and force a deciding set. The Greyhounds out hit the Penmen .389 to .318 and each team had nine kills in the deciding set that Assumption dropped in a close final.

Junior Ann Donahue (Braintree, Mass. / Braintree) had 13 kills, a team-high, in the match while setter Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J. / Immaculate Heart) dished out a team-best 40 assists.

Sophomore Courtney Bagwell (Diamond Bar, Calif. / Diamond Bar) had a career-high 33 digs in the loss.

The Greyhounds fall to 3-5 on the season with the loss and hold a 0-1 record in Northeast-10 Conference play while SNHU improves 4-1 overall and have yet to compete in a league match.

Assumption is back in action on Saturday, September 21st as the team will travel to Mercy College to take on the Mavericks. The match will begin at 1 p.m. in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
