HOW IT HAPPENED:
-The Hounds got out to a substantial lead in set one en route to the eventual 27-25 victory. Assumption got out to a 15-5 lead before SNHU began a comeback on four consecutive points, 15-9 Hounds. Assumption held onto the lead until a kill from SNHU's Carolyn Scacchi tied it at 22 apiece, before Assumption closed on a 5-1 run ending with a kill from Smith.
-In sets two and three, the Hounds were defeated 25-16 and 25-17 in games that saw the Penmen lead for almost the entire set. In the third, Assumption began with a 2-1 lead before SNHU tied it 2-2. A Reilly kill tied it again at 3-3 before Assumption proceded to tie it up at 4-4, 5-5, 8-8 and 9-9. A six-point run (15-9) for the Penmen put the game out of reach for the Hounds.
-Assumption was nearly successful in its comeback attempt in set four, but fell by a narrow score of 25-23. With the match looking out of reach as SNHU led 24-18, the Hounds rallied with five straight points that included kills from Burke and Smith, but a kill from Victoria Wehrmann of the Penmen tallied the final point and clinched the match.
