THE BASICS:

The Lead: Assumption was tied 37-37 with Philadelphia U. at the half and trailed by just two points with one minute left, before a late run allowed the Rams to come away with a 90-82 victory on Sunday in the East Coast Challenge hosted by Saint Rose.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Assumption fell behind 12-6 in the opening five minutes and trailed 23-13 midway through the half. A three-point play by Declan Soukup (Melbourne, Australia / Hallam Senior College) cut the deficit to eight and ignited a 13-3, with a pair of Marcus Murray (Washington, D.C. / John F. Kennedy) free throws tying the game 26-26 at 7:16.

- The Hounds eventually fell behind 37-30 with three minutes in the half, but scored the final seven points of the period, including a free throw from Branislav Vujadinovic (Belgrade, Serbia / St. Joseph) with two seconds left to go into the break tied 37 apiece.

- Philadelphia opened the second half on a 13-6 run, before seven straight by Assumption evened the score, 50-50, at 15:02. The Ram's regained the lead but it never climbed higher than three over the next nine minutes.

- Trailing 72-68, Damien Rance (Melbourne, Australia / Pope John XXIII) pulled Assumption within two at 5:43, but a 10-2 run by Philadelphia over the next two minutes stretched its lead to 82-72. Assumption responded with eight straight to close within 82-80 with just 1:34 left. However, the Rams scored on each of their final four possessions in the final minute to earn the 90-84 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption shot 55.0 percent for the contest and 42.9 percent from downtown, but allowed Philadelphia to shoot 50.8 overall and connect on 11 three-point field goals.

- The Rams held a 32-29 edge on the boards and attempted ten more free throws (22-12) in the contest.

- Murray led the team with 20 points, two rebounds and two assists while Soukup posted 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Vujadinovic was also in double figures with a career-high 18 points, four rebounds and two assists.

- Kylan Guerra led Philadelphia with 25 points while Eric Long had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
