- The Lead: On Wednesday afternoon in Syracuse, N.Y., the Assumption College women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-2 road final at No. 2 ranked Le Moyne College in Northeast-10 Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption sophomore Alexis Pastore (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) scored 8:02 into the first half as she took a pass from freshman Krista Iwanicki (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) to pull the Hounds within 3-1.
- Also scoring in the game for the Hounds was sophomore Erin Gildea (Boca Raton, Fla./Pope John Paul II) as she found the back of the net with 5:53 remaining in the contest for her fourth goal of the season.
- Junior goalie Jaclyn Chirco (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) had eight saves in the loss, while Dolphins goalies Ryan Cortese and Maggie Brown combined for four stops in the win for Le Moyne.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Hounds forced 11 Le Moyne turnovers and converted 8-of-11 clear attempts, while Le Moyne held an 11-8 edge in draw controls and a 23-10 advantage in ground balls. Junior Tori Russo (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) led the team with three draw controls, while the Dolphins outshot Assumption by a 30-11 margin.
- Six different Dolphins scored multiple goals, led by a three-goal, two-assist effort from Maggie Monnat and a three-goal outing by Molly McGuane.

- Assumption is back in action on Saturday, April 2nd as the Hounds travel to Saint Michael's College for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup beginning at 3 p.m. in Colchester, Vt.
