THE BASICS:

-Score: Assumption 5, Saint Anselm 4

-Records: Assumption 2-0 (1-0 NE10); Saint Anselm 3-10 (0-4 NE10)

-Location: Worcester, Mass. (Assumption College Tennis Courts)

-The Lead: To open their spring season, four out of the six singles won their matches in two sets to lead Assumption to a 5-4 victory over Saint Anselm. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Assumption seniors Chris Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) and Marco Leung (Macao / The International School of Macao) won their doubles match 8-4 at No. 1, but the Hounds fell at No. 2 & No. 3 doubles to trail 2-1 going into singles play.

- C. Waung and  Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) came through with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Waung won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, while Foster earned a 6-2, 7-6 victory.

- Assumption also secured wins at third and fourth singles matches when Leung won his singles match 6-1,6-4 and sophmore Danny Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) added a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 4 for his first collegiate victory. Saint Anselm captured No. 5 and No. 6 singles for the 5-4 final.
