THE BASICS:

- Score: Assumption 11, Bentley 10 - OT

The Lead: Assumption trailed Bentley 10-5 with 19 minutes remaining in regulation but came all the way back to tie the game up with 95 seconds left on a goal by Caitlin Graves (Ashland, Mass. / Ashland), and Graves then completed the comeback with a goal just 21 seconds into overtime for a dramatic 11-10 win on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Graves scored with 1:35 left on the clock to tie the game after Tori Russo (South Windsor, Conn. / South Windsor) forced a turnover in the defensive end. The Hounds nearly scored at the end of regulation but Graves' shot was saved, sending the game to OT.

- Assumption won the opening draw of OT and Graves eventually got the ball behind the net due to a foul. She beat her defender to the front of the goal mouth and whipped a shot into the back of the cage before falling to the ground and getting mobbed by her teammates in celebration.

- Assumption actually fell behind 3-0 in the opening four minutes, before goals by Amanda Burns (Billerica, Mass. / Billerica Memorial) and Graves closed the gap within one with 11:06 left in the half. However, Bentley outscored the Hounds 3-1 over the final ten minutes for a 6-3 lead at the half.

- The Falcons outscored the Hounds 4-2 over the first 11 minutes of the second to stretch their lead to 10-5. Back-to-back man-up goals by Jenny Bush (Kennebunk, Maine / Kennebunk) and Jen McDonald (Walpole, Mass. / Walpole) trimmed it to 10-7 midway through the period.

- Eight minutes later, Quincy Wilkins (Wilbraham, Mass. / Minnechaug) scored on a free position attempt with 7:17 left to trail 10-8. Russo then forced a turnover with just under four minutes left and Burns capitalized on the other end to pull within one with 3:10 left, setting up the dramatic comeback.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption outshot Bentley 33-24 in the contest, including a 20-10 edge in the second half and OT. The Hounds also picked up more ground balls (18-13) and won more draw controls (12-11).

- Defensively, Russo had three ground balls and three caused turnovers in the final five minutes of the game while Jaclyn Chirco (Hopkinton, Mass. / Hopkinton) finished with nine saves to earn her fifth victory of the season. Gabrielle Morris (Londonderry, N.H. / Londonderry) added two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

- Graves finished with three goals while Burns also had a hat trick to go with four draw controls. McDonald added a pair of scores with one draw control and caused turnover.

- Lauren Ochs took the loss for Bentley as she made 12 saves in 59:58. Kathleen Gillespie had four draws, three caused turnovers and one goal to pace the Falcons.

- Today's win was the first for the Hounds over Bentley in program history. The four Assumption conference victories also surpasses last season's total with two of the wins coming in overtime. The Hounds have actually gone 6-0 in OT over the past three seasons.
