 -The Lead:  The Assumption University men's basketball team continued their 2021-22 season on Monday evening with a Northeast 10 matchup against Stonehill. The Hounds jumped out to an early lead and never looked back scoring 41 points in both halves to secure the 82-60 victory.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Matthew Kelly (North Potomac, Md. / Quince Orchard) had eight of the Hounds first 12 points and had a team high 25 points the rest of the evening as the Hounds got out to an early lead and never looked back. 

-The Hounds went on a 12-0 run in the first to cushion their lead and kept the Skyhawks out of reach for the rest of the contest, maintaining a 20 point lead for the majority of the second half. 

-Omar El Sheikh (Giza, EG. / The Knox School) registered a double double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. 

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-The Hounds outrebounded the Skyhawks 47-30.

-Assumption was 30-65 (46.2%) shooting on the night while Stonehill was 20-54 (37%)

-The Hounds also shot 11-22 (50%) from beyond the arc on the night.

-The Hounds travel to Post on January 30 for a non conference matchup. Tip off is set for 7:00pm.
