HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption applied the pressure from the start, as they outshot the Purple Knights 4-0 in the opening 15 minutes and 12-0 through 30 minutes. Despite being held scoreless in the first half, the Greyhounds outshot SMC 12-0 and had all six penalty corners.
Mia Salah got the hosts on the board in the 41
st minute, as she would redirect a
Chloe Kaeller. The Greyhounds had multiple scoring chances in the second half, but the Purple Knights received ten saves from Riley O'Connor to keep it 1-0 Assumption.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kylie Gargiulo recorded two saves for Assumption to record her 23rd career shutout.
- Assumption outshot the Purple Knights 21-3 while having 13 penalty corners to just four for SMC.
