WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University field hockey team ran their winning streak to eight games as they picked up a 2-1 win over Adelphi University in Northeast-10 action Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption began the game controlling the pace, as they outshot Adelphi 9-0 in the opening 15 minutes.
Lucy Malia got the Greyhounds on the board with 2:22 showing on the clock as she put in the redirected shot.
The Blue and White doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half, as
Christina Leonard finished off the
Chloe Kaeller shot, making it 2-0 Assumption. Adelphi got on the board in the final five minutes, as Kaylee Deleva fired home the shot off the penalty corner attempt.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kylie Gargiulo recorded seven saves for Assumption.
- The Adelphi goal with 4:20 remaining in regulation snapped a 348:30 shutout streak for Gargiulo, which dates back to September 21st against New Haven.
- The Greyhounds outshot the Panthers 17-12, while both sides had seven penalty corners.
- Adelphi continues to lead the all-time series 11-8.
