WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Sophia Ruh's goal in overtime snapped the Assumption University field hockey's 28-game winning streak against Northeast-10 opponents, as the Greyhounds fell 2-1 Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption got on the board early, as
Chloe Kaeller scored off a penalty corner as she drove home the blocked shot at the 4:42 marker. The Greyhounds continued to apply the pressure as they outshot the hosts 7-0 in the opening 30 minutes.
The Chargers flipped the script in the third quarter, as New Haven outshot Assumption 8-2, which was headlined by Sophie Schreck's goal in the 37
th minute. The game would remain tied and would head into overtime, where Sophia Ruh scored the game-winner as she fired a shot from the top of the circle and snuck inside the far corner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kylie Gargiulo recorded four saves for Assumption.
- The Greyhounds outshot the Chargers 14-10, while AU had seven penalty corners to just two for UNH.
- Assumption's winning streak was the second longest in NE10 history, as UMass Lowell won 32-straight games from 2009-11.
- The Greyhounds are now 18-2 in one-goal games over the last two seasons.
- Assumption continues to lead the all-time series 7-1.
