WORCESTER, Mass. – Nathan Carl scored the overtime game-winner for Nichols College, which sank the Assumption University men's ice hockey team, 4-3, in the Woo Cup Championship game Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Nichols was the first team to strike, as Owen Gonter opened the scoring at the 4:29 marker. Dara Conneely got the Greyhounds on the board just over halfway through the first period, but the Bison would nab one more score before then end of the opening period.
Ronny Paragallo evened up the game for Assumption in the middle portion of the second period, which was the only goal in the middle frame.
Brandon Cope regained the lead for Nichols at 12:58, but 30-seconds later Ryan Decker knotted up the game at 3-3. The game would head into overtime, where the Bison were able to capitalize on a 4-on-3 to win the Woo Cup for the hosting Bison.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Drew Benedict took the loss for the Hounds, despite recording 26 saves.

The Greyhounds outshot the Bison 45-30, while both sides had ten blocked shots.

Assumption went 1-for-4 on the man advantage, while Nichols went 2-for-5.
