WATERBURY, Conn. - Time and time again this season, defense, a strong running game, and quality offense down the stretch has helped Assumption get to where they are today. Last weekend, Assumption beat Saint Anselm in their NE10 finale, 21-12, to claim their third NE10 Championship in program history. Big stops down the stretch closed it out as a surging Hawks team was looking to keep the game going. With conference play closed out for Assumption, the Greyhounds will travel to take on Post University in their regular season game.

The Greyhounds' defense and rushing continue to not only be the catalyst in the majority of their wins, but now the statistics are proving how valuable it is to them. On Saturday vs. the Hawks, the Greyhounds held Saint Anselm to -20 rushing yards on 21 attempts. Not only that, but they improved to 7-1 this season when they rushed for 100 yards or more. Quarterback
Jake Cady continued to prove how much of a dual threat he is by throwing for two touchdowns, rushing for 98 yards, and a rushing touchdown himself. Assumption, who now sit at the top of the NE10 standings, wait to see how the University of New Haven and Bentley University will finish their season. The Greyhounds hold the tiebreaker on New Haven, and Bentley lost to American International College last week.
