PREVIEW: Greyhounds look to keep the momentum going at Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. - It was an emotional and eventful Saturday in Worcester as the Greyhounds upset the No. 25 the University of New Haven at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium, 14-13. Again, the run game and the dominant defense was the storyline, as they held the conference leaders to zero points in the second half. The Greyhounds improved to 6-2 overall with two games left in the season. They're back on the road this Saturday as they travel to Manchester, New Hampshire, to take on Saint Anselm College.

The Greyhounds' defense and running game was the story again. When the Greyhounds control those aspects of the game, they hold on to win. New Haven struggled to get any offense going in the second half and couldn't score a single point, as Assumption held on for the win and leveled their record with the Chargers. It was the first time Assumption had beaten the Chargers since 2017 when they won 41-6 at Brian Kelly 83' Stadium. As the season comes to a close soon, the Greyhounds need to keep the energy going as they travel to New Hampshire to take on the Hawks from Saint Anselm College.

Assumption has 17 career wins vs. Saint Anselm and only six losses. From 2005 to 2019, they went on a 15-game win streak. The home and away record is pretty even, with the Greyhounds going 9-3 at home and 8-3 on the road. Last year, Assumption beat Saint Anselm 44-35, with Jake Cady rushing for 124 yards and four touchdowns. This is the second time Cady has done that, with the previous being against Franklin Pierce at Polar Park earlier this year. Khaleed Exum-Strong had 113 yards as well. It was not a dominant passing day for Assumption, with the team only having 93 passing yards total. Quinn Sieger had one big catch for 39 yards.

Saint Anselm is 5-3 this season, going 2-3 in the conference. They opened up their season with four straight wins, including a 27-0 shutout vs. Franklin Pierce University and a home victory vs. Southern Connecticut State University. They lost to New Haven and Bentley, bounced back against Post, and then recently lost to Pace this weekend. To close out the season after their upcoming game vs. Assumption, they'll travel to Springfield, Massachusetts, to take on American International College.

Fans attending the game in Manchester must be aware of the policies at Grappone Stadium on the campus of Saint Anselm College. Live Stats and Live Video will also be available to those watching from another location.
