WORCESTER, Mass. – Led by a three-point night from
Michael Zampanti, the Assumption University scored seven times between the second and the third period to rally past Franklin Pierce University 7-4 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Franklin Pierce opened up the scoring for the second-straight night as Jason Ladzinski found the back of the net at the 7:52 marker. Anthony Nikolopoulus pushed the Raven lead to 2-0 after he scored on the man advantage.
Down 2-0 entering the second period, Ryan Decker got the Greyhounds on the board as he beat the opposing netminder for the third-straight game. Twenty-seven seconds later,
Michael Zampanti capitalized on a penalty shot to tie the game at 2-2. Just over the halfway mark of the frame,
Collin Montgomery gave Assumption their first lead of the game as Zampanti picked up the assist. Franklin Pierce would not go quietly, as Vito Carlo (12:35) and Conor Foley (19.08) regained the Ravens' lead before the end of the middle period.
In the third period, the Greyhounds came out firing, as they were able to strike for four goals in the frame.
Ronny Paragallo connected with
Mike D'Ambrosio for the game-tying goal at the 3:03 mark before
Sean O'Connell picked up the go-ahead score 14 seconds later. Zampanti recorded his second goal of the game, as he scored off the
Colin Philippon feed, before O'Connell added an empty next tally in the final minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Drew Benedict picked up the for the Hounds, as he recorded 37 stops.
- Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 46-41, as they also won 40-of-78 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were 2-for-5 on the man advantage, while the Ravens went 1-for-8.
