WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team strikes for three goals in the third period as the Greyhounds picked up a 5-1 Northeast-10 Conference win against Saint Michael's College, Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Michael's was the first team to strike, as Jeremy Routh opened the scoring at the 3:25 marker. The Greyhounds answered as
Mike D'Ambrosio's shot from the point found its way through a screen and beat the Purple Knight's netminder. Assumption took their first lead of the contest two minutes later, as
Alexander Mavrogiannis redirected in D'Ambrosio's shot from the point at the 7:15 mark.
Saint Michael's ratcheted up the pressure in the second period, as they outshot Assumption 17-12 while winning 9-of-15 faceoffs, but they could not tie up the contest in the middle frame, sending the game to the third period with the Greyhounds up 2-1.
Assumption expanded their lead in the early moments of the third period, as
Christopher Stalmok made it 3-1, while 11 seconds later,
Shane Sullivan pushed it to 4-1.
Ryan Decker's fifth goal of the year at 6:42 made it 5-1 Greyhounds, which would seal the game for the hosts.

- Michael Hauswirth and Thomas McLarnon combined to record 31 saves in the crease for Assumption.
- D'Ambrosio has pushed his point streak to four games, as he has recorded three goals and four assists, while Stolmak also extended his point streak to four games, scoring four goals and two assists.
