Now, they look to get two straight conference wins as they continue this road trip down to New Haven, Connecticut, as they face off against Southern Connecticut State University on October 1st.

The Greyhounds are looking to continue their success against Pace in their NE10 opener. They're now 2-1 on the season, with the opening day against Kutztown University and a loss to Division I Merrimack College. On Saturday, Assumption will travel to New Haven to take on Southern Connecticut State University, a side still looking for its first victory.

The history between these two teams is completely split in half. Southern Connecticut picked up 11 straight wins against the Greyhounds, going back to 2001. Assumption got their first win against the Owls in 2012 and have won eight after, which is good for a nine-game winning streak. Last year, the Greyhounds completely dominated the Owls at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium, winning 26-0.
Easton Turner threw for 230 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.
Khaleed Exum-Strong had 152 yards rushing, while
Baley Collier was the leading receiver with four catches for 64 yards.

Last year, the Owls went 4-6 with a 3-5 record in conference. They split four contests at home, posing a 2-2 record, and went 2-4 on the road. Last year, they lost 26-0 against the Greyhounds on the road in Worcester. They picked up wins against Central Connecticut State University, Saint Anselm College, American International College, and Franklin Pierce University.

Last Time Out at Pace
- Assumption was in the driver seat in their NE10 opener at Pace, as they compiled 273 yards on the ground, picking up a 26-14 win on the road.
- Jake Cady tallied 187 yards of offense to lead the Greyhounds. The senior went 9-17 passing for 87 yards and also rushed for 97 yards. He threw for one touchdown, a seven-yard pass to Sean Leonard.
- The running work was split up between multiple Greyhounds. Raekwon Washington had 86 yards on 14 carries, while Berrell Neal and Larsen Wilson each scored a rushing touchdown
- Baley Collier was the go-to receiver on the night, as he hauled in three receptions for 60 yards, including a 50 yarder
- The Assumption defense held their opponents to just 14 points on the night. Osiris Acevedo led the team with five tackles
- Isaac Hadac had four tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. Jael Feliz recorded two tackles and a blocked kick, while Tre'Sean Bouie snagged an interception.

SCSU Loses to Saint Anselm On the Road, 21-14

- It was a close battle in Manchester, New Hampshire, but it was not enough from the Owls as they lost to the Hawks by a touchdown. It is the 4th straight loss, including the second conference loss in a row. The Owls lost to Pace University the week prior, 27-7
- Saint Anselm continues their very impressive start to the season, as they are 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the NE10
- Diante Wilson led the Owls' offense with 152 yards on 24 carries while also recording four catches for 19 yards
- Jordan Davis scored on a four-yard run in the second quarter for his second touchdown in as many games, while Jevon Jones scored his first touchdown of the season on an 8-yard pass from Joe Bernard
- Bernard recorded 135 yards in the air, going 17-30 in completions on the afternoon
- Despite the loss, the Owls grabbed four interceptions in the afternoon. Two came from Ben Eichman, while Ja'Kai Young and Navaughn Austin each had one. The last time Southern Connecticut recorded four interceptions in a game was on Sept. 23, 2016, against American International College.
- Joe Digello led the Owls' defense with eight tackles and three quarterback hurries. Hasan Dominick and Richard Williams Jr. both had seven tackles each.

NE10 Preseason Poll
- The Greyhounds were predicted to come in second in the Northeast-10 Conference, according to the league's preseason coaches poll released on August 15th
- Assumption looks to improve off of their 2021 campaign, which saw them finish tenth with a 5-5 overall record and a 5-3 record in conference action
- New Haven was ranked first in the poll with 49 points
- Assumption was 12 points behind them and 4 points behind third, which was Bentley

A Look at the Matchups Ahead
- On October 9th, the Greyhounds will play at Polar Park against Franklin Pierce University, home of the WooSox, the Triple AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
- Another highlight on the schedule is the Homecoming Game on October 15th vs. Bentley University.
- Reigning champions No. 24, the University of New Haven, come to Brian Kelly '83 Stadium on October 29th, rounding out the last home game of the year for the Greyhounds.
