WORCESTER, Mass. – A Trio of Greyhounds were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference as Honor Roll mentions, as announced by the NE10 Conference office on Monday afternoon.
In two games this week,
Njavan Stewart averaged 24.0 points, with six rebounds and three assists as Assumption went 2-0. On Wednesday, Stewart helped propel the Greyhounds from a 19-point deficit to pick up a 75-66 win at Adelphi. The junior continued his offensive tear with a career-high 28-point performance against Saint Rose in a 66-52 win. With two wins this week, Assumption is on a three-game winning streak in NE10 action for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign when they won four straight games.
Drew Benedict went 1-1 on the week as the Greyhounds battled Saint Anselm for the top of the NE10. He averaged 3.56 goals per game in two games and supported a .907 save percentage.
William Smith recorded two goals and two assists on the week as the Greyhounds went 1-1. On Friday, Smith scored the game-winning goal with 2:00 minutes left in the third period, as Assumption picked up a 4-3 comeback win over Saint Anselm. In two games, Smith won 31-of-55 faceoffs (56.4 percent).
