WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team scored three unanswered goals as the Greyhounds recorded a 3-1 win over Westfield State University Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Westfield State was the first team to strike, as Cooper Board scored off the rebound from the shot from the point.
Sean O'Connell put the Greyhounds on the board 13:18 into the second period, as the senior found the back of the net on the man advantage.
After outshooting the Owls 28-2 in the second period, Assumption took their first lead with 7:32 remaining in the third. Colin Montgomery slid the puck over to
Michael Zampanti, and he beat the goaltender to the far post.
Ryan Decker added an insurance goal as he scored a 180' empty-net goal with 16.7 showing on the clock.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Michael Hauswirth recorded 22 saves in the crease for Assumption to move to 3-0-0 on the year.
- The Greyhounds outshot the Owls 50-23 and won 40-of-74 faceoffs.
- Assumption went 1-for-4 on the man advantage, while Westfield went 0-for-6.
