WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University football team allowed 25 unanswered points as the Greyhounds fell in Northeast-10 Conference action against the University of New Haven on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to get on the board, as
Chris Donohue connected with
Nick Ofodile on a nine-yard strike, putting the Greyhounds up 7-0 with 6:22 remaining in the first quarter. On the opening drive of the second quarter for New Haven,
Jaron Wilson picked off a Daelen Menard pass and returned it 62 yards for a pick-six. The Chargers responded with a quick strike, as Menard hit Elijah Jeffreys on a 71-yard quick slant, putting UNH on the board. New Haven got within two points right before the half, as Christopher Ais scored on a two-yard plunge.
After a scoreless third quarter, New Haven scored 13 points, while the Greyhounds offenses only managed 67 yards.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Chris Donohue and Jay Kastantin combined to go 10-for-20 for 77 yards and a score.
- James Henderson was the lead back for the Greyhounds, as he had nine carries for 37 yards, while Raekwon Washington added seven carries for 28 yards.
- Baley Collier was the top target for the Assumption quarterbacks, hauling in three receptions for 25 yards.
- New Haven outgained Assumption 337-158
- Assumption still leads the all-time series, 9-8.
