SPRINGFIELD, Mass - The Assumption University field hockey team extended their winning streak to six games, as the Greyhounds raced past American International College 4-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption continued to start fast in their games, as
Lily Daly scored the opening goal at 6:27 of the first quarter, with
Mia Salah recording the assist. The Yellow Jackets would continue to withstand the peppering of the shots for the Greyhounds' offense, as the Hounds would outshoot the hosts 14-0 in the opening 30 minutes yet only led 1-0.
The Greyhounds broke through in the third quarter as Salah and Daly found the back of the cage within a minute of one another.
Caroline McSweeney assisted on Daly's second strike of the night, as the duo used the give-n-go on the penalty corner. In the fourth,
Lauren Jacobs extended the final score to 4-0 with her marker with 38 seconds remaining in the contest.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Assumption outshot American International 23-3, while also taking all eight corners.
- Paige Gillette recorded two saves for her fifth shutout of the year.
- This is the Greyhounds' sixth-straight NE10 win.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 27-9, which included a 10-game winning streak over AIC.
