HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption got out on the front foot, taking multiple shots that were all saved by Annike Lavender in the net. Saint Michael's were able to get on the power play about 9:00 minutes into the contest but could not capitalize. The Hounds would strike first with just about five minutes to go in the period, right after a powerplay of their own. It would be Caroline Lilly who would score on even strength, assisted by Justina Valentini. That would be the only main action of the first period, and the Hounds would lead 1-0 after one.

Assumption opened up the second period with another power play but could not capitalize again. The majority of the chances were rolling through Assumption. However, Saint Michael's generated some shots of their own, with Jadyn Weiser making the saves. Assumption would eventually double their advantage, with Kaitlyn Cielo scoring on the power play 7:02 into the period. It didn't take long to make it three, with Kierstan Browning adding another past Saint Michael's, putting the Hounds in good control with still 7:18 left to play in the second period. Assumption kept their foot on the gas, adding a fourth through Emma Gurnell, with Lily Corso picking up an assist. At the end of the second, the Hounds would be in cruise control, up 4-0.

Eight seconds into the third, Saint Michael's got one back, with Angelina Ruiz getting on the board. Almost immediately, the Hounds restored their lead back to four, with Teagan Vaughan grabbing one on even strength with the assist from Ella Rago. The Hounds continued to apply pressure as the third went on, as they had doubled the amount of shots the Purple Knights had taken in the game. Assumption's dominant offensive performance
