WORCESTER, Mass. – For the third-straight game, the Assumption University men's ice hockey needed overtime to win a Northeast-10 Conference contest.
Jonathan Surrette was the hero on Friday night, as his goal with 2:22 left in OT gave the Greyhounds a 4-3 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started the scoring early, as
Shane Sullivan opened the scoring at 3:54 as
Jonathan Surrette and
Ryan Decker recorded helpers. The Greyhounds would double their lead with 3:50 showing on the first-period clock, as
Ronny Paragallo recorded a powerplay goal.
Post got on the board in the middle period, as Patrick Murphy scored on the man advantage. The Eagles didn't wait long into the third period, as they tied the game at the 59-second mark. Assumption regained the lead five minutes later, as Surrette tied the game, with Sullivan and Decker with getting credit for the assists. The guests would not go quietly, as Jake Aloi tied the game just past the midway mark of the third period.
The game would eventually go into overtime, with Post on the man advantage. Following a successful penalty kill, Surrette would bury the game-winner with Assumption on the 4-on-3.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Thomas McLarnon logged 29 saves for his sixth win of the year.
- Surrette scored his seventh and eighth goal of the year, leading the conference, while his three points give him ten (also first in the NE10).
- The Greyhounds outshot the Eagles 47-32 while winning 38-of-66 faceoffs.
- Both teams scored on the man advantage, as Assumption was 2-for-7 and the Eagles went 1-for-6.
- Assumption has now extended their lead in the all-time series to 17-2-1, as they are now unbeaten in the last nine meetings.
