AUBURN, Mass.– The Assumption University men's ice hockey team pushed their winning streak to five games, as they dispatched Anna Maria College for the second time this season, 4-3, in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started strong, as Daniel Lemanski lit the lamp at the 9:11 marker of the opening period, with Patrick Rossetti picking up the assist.
The game would remain 1-0 in favor of the Greyhounds until the third period when the game opened up. Jonathan Surrette continued his scoring pace with a strike at 6:02 before Nathan Palumbo and Kyle LoNigro scored while short-handed.
Anna Maria would make things interesting in the final 2:40, as they recorded three goals in a short span, but Assumption would hold off the late push and improve to 8-1-0 on the year.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Callum Welch logged 38 saves in his first collegiate action, including the win.
- Jonathan Surrette extended his goal streak to nine games, where he registered a goal.
- The AMCats outshot Assumption 41-36 while also winning 40-of-76 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds went 0-4 on the power play, while the hosts went 2-4.
