WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University scored six third-period goals to snap the Assumption University men's ice hockey winning at eight games, following a 6-3 decision on Thursday evening at the Amelia Park Ice Arena in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first period, Assumption got on the board early into the second period, as Leo Piandes found the back of the net from a face-off win by Ronny Paragallo.Â
Westfield State's offense exploded in the opening of the third period, as they scored four-straight goal, which was capped off by a power play tally by Christopher Miraldo at the 7:43 marker. The Greyhounds would not go quietly, as Jonathan Surrette cut the deficit to 4-2 at 10:52 before Paragallo got Assumption within one (4-3) with his tally four minutes later. With just over a minute remaining in regulation, the Owls would net a pair of empty-net tally, making it 6-3 Westfield.Â
 INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Clement Labillois and Callum Welch combined to record 32 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Westfield State outshot Assumption 38-36 while having a slight advantage in the face-off circle, 33-65.Â
