Jimmy McDermott opened up the goalscoring, and then with 6:09 remaining,
Colin Philippon, the conference's leader in points, put the home side up by two goals. The Eagles didn't go away quietly, as Michael Gethings scored eight seconds into a Post powerplay to cut the lead in half. At the end of the first, Assumption was up 3-1.
