WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team used a late goal by
Ronny Paragallo to pick up a 1-1 tie against Post University Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

Records: Greyhounds (14-9-1, 10-4-1 NE10), Eagles (6-16-1, 4-10-1 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first period, neither side could establish any consistent offense, despite Assumption outshooting Post 9-4. The game opened up in the second, as the two teams combined for 29 shots in the frame. Michael Gethings opened the scoring early in the period as he capitalized on a 5-on-3 for the Eagles.
With their backs against the wall entering the third period, Assumption continued to attack. With just under six minutes remaining in regulation,
Ronny Paragallo scored off of a rebound off a
William Smith wrap-around chance. The Greyhounds had a few more scoring opportunities but were unable to find the late game-winner. The game would head to overtime, where neither side would score, and the contest ended in a 1-1 tie.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Drew Benedict recorded 22 saves in the crease for Assumption.
- The Greyhounds outshot the Eagles 44-23, while Post won 39-of-70 faceoffs.
- Assumption was 0-for-6 on the man advantage, while Post was 1-for-3.
