WORCESTER, Mass. – Colin Philippon,
Shane Sullivan, and
Ryan Decker combined to record four goals and seven assists, as the Assumption University men's ice hockey team picked up a 5-2 Northeast-10 Conference win over Post University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening period, the ice was wide open, as both teams had scoring chances. Post was the first team to strike, as Nick Weber found the back of the net at the 9:05 marker.
William Roberts evened up the score with just under five minutes remaining in the frame, as he scored off the
Jimmy McDermott and
Alexander Mavrogiannis assists.
Shane Sullivan put Assumption up 2-1 in the final minute of the first, as he scored from the slot.
Post evened up the game eight minutes into the second, as Connor Murray found the back of the net. The Greyhounds once again regained the lead in the waning minutes of the period as
Colin Philippon picked up his seventh strike of the year.
Philippon recorded his second goal of the contest at the 8:00 minute mark of the third to extend the Assumption lead to 4-2.
Ryan Decker tacked on an insurance goal at 14:48, pushing the Greyhounds' advantage to 5-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Thomas McLarnon recorded 33 saves in the crease for Assumption.
- The Greyhounds outshot the Eagles 43-35, while the teams split the faceoffs, 33-33.
- Assumption was 0-for-4 on the man advantage, while Post was 0-for-3.
- The trio of Decker, Philippon, and Sullivan combined for four goals and seven assists in the win.
