ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Assumption University baseball team's comeback came up short, as the Greyhounds fell to Flagler College 6-5 in non-conference action in Florida Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Cole Durkin got the Greyhounds on the board in the top of the first inning, as the Grad Transfer launched a solo shot over the "Red Monster" in right field. Assumption would maintain a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning as the hosts plated four runs in the frame.
The Saints added to their lead in the fifth, plating two runs to go up 6-1.
Christopher Rabias cut into the deficit in the top of the sixth as he singled home
Cody Smith. The Greyhounds continued to chip away at the margin as they struck for three runs in the seventh. Durkin drew a bases-loaded walk before
Jared Berardino found a gap, plating two runs. Despite two more chances, Assumption fell short and fell 6-5.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The middle of the order for the Greyhounds (Durkin, Berardino, and Christopher Rabias) combined to go 6-for-11 at the plate, with five RBI and a homerun.
- Corey Chiappone and John Davis combined to toss 4.0 innings of relief for Assumption. The duo allowed two hits, and had four strikeouts.
