NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Assumption University baseball fell in their Northeast-10 Conference opener at Southern Connecticut State University, 12-2, Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Connecticut was the first team to get on the board, as they plated two runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Owls pushed their lead to 4-0 following a two-run fifth inning. Assumption got on the board in the sixth inning as
Jack Barry drove in
Jake Hamel with a single.
The Owls regained a four-run advantage with one run in the bottom of the sixth before plating six runs in the seventh. Hamel scored once again, as he crossed the plate on a
Connor Wironen sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. SCSU added one more run in the bottom of the eight, making it a 12-2 final.
