WORCESTER, Mass – The Assumption University baseball team allowed eight runs with two outs in the top of the fourth inning, as they fell to Southern Connecticut State University 15-7 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at H.L. Rocheleau '24 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Connecticut started fast as they plated four runs in the top of the first inning, with two runs scoring on a Connor Coggin single through the Assumption infield. The Greyhounds got on the board in the bottom of the third inning, as
Kevin Cox scored on a
Jack Barry fielders' choice.
Cole Durkan tied the game later on in the frame, as he pulled a full count offering over the right field fence.
The Owls regained control of the contest, as they plated eight runs with two outs in the top of the fourth inning to grab a 12-4 lead. SCSU pushed their lead to 14-4, as they tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Assumption cut the deficit to seven runs, as they plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Eric Preston doubled home
Jared Berardino before scoring on a
Connor Wironen single to center. Wironen came around to score, as he stole third and scored on a throwing error by the SCSU catcher.
Southern Connecticut added one more run in the top of the ninth to come away with a 15-7 final score.
