WORCESTER, Mass – After winning game one 13-1, the Assumption University baseball bats cooled off as they fell in the nightcap of the Northeast-10 Conference twin bill against Saint Michael's College 10-5, at Rocheleau Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE - Assumption 13, Saint Michael's 1
Assumption got on the board early, as they plated a pair of runs, as they took advantage of some inconsistencies of the Purple Knights' pitching. The Greyhounds scored twice in the frame, as they drew three walks and had one single.
In the top of the fourth inning,
Cole Durkan launched a three-run homerun over the right field fence, expanding the Assumption lead to 5-0. The Greyhounds would maintain a 5-0 lead for the middle inning, but in the top of the seventh, the Blue and White plated five runs.
Jack Barry,
Jared Berardino, and
Emilio Acosta picked up RBI for the Greyhounds, making it 10-0.
Assumption continued to add to their lead in the top of the eighth as
Christopher Rabias doubled in a run before Berardino drove in
Cody Smith on a single to right. Rabias crossed the plate on a Durkan sacrifice fly. Saint Michael's eventually got on the board in the bottom of the ninth, as Evan Balian hit a solo shot to right field, making it 13-1 Assumption.
MacGuire O'Sullivan picked up the win for the Greyhounds as he tossed 8.0 scoreless innings scattering four hits and striking out one.
GAME TWO – Saint Michael's 10 Assumption 5
Saint Michael's started the game fast, plating three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Their lead would grow to 4-0, as the Purple Knights scored one run in the second on a double steal.
Assumption got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning as a pair of runs crossed the plate on a throwing error by the SMC pitcher. Saint Michael's responded in the bottom of the fourth to regain a multi-run advantage, as they plated one run.
Berardino cut the deficit back to one run (5-4) in the top of the fifth as he doubled home Barry. The Purple Knight would continue to add three insurance runs in the bottom half of the frame and two more in the sixth to go up 10-4.
Berardino continued to swing a hot bat, as he drove in
Kevin Cox with a base knock up the middle to make it 10-5, but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds fell to the Purple Knights by a 10-5 final score.
