GARDEN, CITY, N.Y. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team dropped their third-straight decision, as they Greyhounds fell to No. 5 Adelphi University in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Records: Greyhounds (2-5, 1-3 NE10), Panthers (9-0, 5-0 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Adelphi came out of the gates on the attack, as they struck for five straight goals to go up 5-0, but
Jackson Bulger scored on a man-up opportunity and put the Greyhounds on the board right before the final horn of the quarter.
Assumption began the second quarter with all of the momentum, as goals from
Ryan Bogar,
Patrik McGrath, and
Ryan Healey, cut the deficit to one (5-4) with 10:21 showing on the clock. The Panthers responded with back-to-back goals to regain a three-goal advantage (7-4) heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, both defenses stood strong, as Adelphi was the only team to record a goal in the frame, but
Colin Malone recorded seven saves in the 15-minute period.
Adelphi began the fourth quarter on fire, as they five-straight scores to go up 13-4 halfway through the frame.
Nolan Sheehan stopped the run by the Panthers with his 17
th tally of the year, but the hosts responded with three unanswered goals to pull away for a 16-5 decision.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Colin Malone recorded a season-high 17 saves in net for Assumption
- Adelphi outshot the Greyhounds 53-47, while also winning 15-of-25 faceoffs.
- The Panthers won the groundball battle (33-29), while also going 23-of-28 compared to Asssumption's 12-of-17 on clear attempts.
