WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team fell to The College of Saint Rose 23-12 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption opened up the scoring through
Cameron Theriault, who put the Hounds up 1-0 with just 13:39 left in the quarter. Saint Rose scored four straight goals to put their authority on the game. It was a back-and-forth affair to close out the first quarter, with Saint Rose taking a 6-4 advantage into the break.
Ryan Bogar added two, while
Nolan Sheehan got his first on the game.
The Golden Knights won the second quarter 5-2, controlling most of the game's flow. Bogar picked up an early hat trick, followed five minutes later by
Ryan Healey getting his first on the day. Saint Rose would take an 11-6 lead into halftime.
The third quarter was a goal fest, especially for the home side. They would add six goals in the third period, with a three-goal run coming from 12:19-9:20.
Brady McNulty got his first on the day at the 7:30 mark, while Theriault and
CJ Wiper added to their goal counts on the season.
To open the fourth quarter, Saint Rose scored six straight goals to take a 23-10 lead with 3:31 remaining in the game.
Sam Maciel got his first of the day with 1:49 remaining, and Theriault added another as time was up for his hat trick. The home side's offense was too strong for the Hounds, as they fell 23-12 on the road.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Greyhounds were outshot 64-39 in the contest.
- Colin Malone and Kyle Patriarca combined to record 12 saves in net for Assumption.
- Saint Rose controlled the faceoffs and ground balls, edging the Hounds 26-13 and 39-29, respectively.
