RINDGE, N.H. – The Assumption University baseball team couldn't get the offense going, as the Greyhounds were blanked by Franklin Pierce in their Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – Franklin Pierce University 3, Assumption University 0
In game one,
Jared Berardino tried to kickstart the Assumption offense with a leadoff double down the right-field line. Following a groundout, which advanced Berardino to third, the Greyhounds were unable to scratch a run across.
Franklin Pierce got on the board in the bottom of the fourth as they plated a pair of runs in the frame. Assumption threatened again in the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, but once again, they couldn't get on the scoreboard.
FPU tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, as they plated one run on a throwing error.
Griffin O'Connor took the loss as he pitched 6.0 innings with four strikeouts.
GAME TWO – Franklin Pierce University 1, Assumption University 0
For the second-straight game, the Assumption University baseball offense could not get in sync, as they were shut out for the second-straight time. The Greyhounds did get a runner in scoring position in the first, fifth, and sixth but could not get past second base.
Franklin Pierce scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the third, as Jake Miller hit a solo homerun with one out in the frame.
Kyle Keating took the loss despite tossing 8.0 innings on 81 pitches, as he allowed four hits and struck out two.
