WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team recorded a 16-9 win over American International College on Senior Day at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Records: Greyhounds (4-9, 2-7 NE10), Yellow Jackets (2-12, 0-9 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
American International quickly started, as they struck for two goals in the opening six minutes.
CJ Wiper got the Greyhounds on the board with his 11
th, but the Yellow Jackets added two more scores to go up 4-1.
Nolan Sheehan and
Jackson Bulger responded for the hosts to cut the deficit to 4-3 after 15 minutes.
The second quarter was all Assumption, as the Greyhounds outscored AIC 7-0 in the frame, with goals coming from Sheehan (three times),
Nick Polymeros,
Zach Barden,
Sam Maciel, and
Ryan Healey. The Hounds would head into halftime up 10-4.
Coming out of the intermission, Sal Amaral cut the deficit to 10-5, but that was quickly responded by six-straight goals to extend the 'Hounds' advantage to 16-5. The Yellow Jackets scored four times in the final quarter, but the Assumption's advantage was too vast to overcome.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Collin Malone had 13 saves on the night for the Greyhounds.
- Nolan Sheenan led the Hounds with five goals and three groundballs.
- Assumption won the shot battle 72-38; while also grabbing 53-of-76 groundballs.
