HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE - Southern New Hampshire 31, Assumption 1
Southern New Hampshire was all over the Greyhounds in game one of the doubleheaders, as the bats were hot, and the pitching was on point. They scored in every single inning except the second and the ninth, as they capitalized on Assumption's seven fielding errors. They totaled 26 hits, while the Greyhounds only managed six. Assumption managed to get on the board in the third inning, as
Emilio Acosta pulled off a sacrifice fly, scoring
Cody Smith. The Penmen didn't slow down and won the game 31-1.
GAME TWO – Southern New Hampshire 6, Assumption 0
Similarly to game one, the defense was immaculate for the Penmen as they only allowed one hit in the entire second game versus the Greyhounds. The pitching for the visitors was on point, as Josh Roberge went a full seven innings allowing one hit, two walks, and 12 strikeouts while only throwing 104 pitches.
Shea Ryan started the contest for the Hounds, going five while allowing seven hits and three earned runs. Southern New Hampshire scored one run in the second, third, and fourth and eventually tacked on three more in the top of the seventh as they went on to win 6-0.
